About me

So this is a picture of me.  It’s about 5 years old… I like it because it shows my normal ‘tude, which I haven’t fully embraced but I wear it well.

I went to college, I went to art school.  I learned a lot more in art school than I did in college.  I LOVED the Museum School.  It was expansive and exploratory.  Just what I needed after getting divorced and coming out.  Oh, yeah, I’m gay.

And then there’s my name.  I really am D.B. Treske, but for now I carry the legal name of Deb Brown.  One day I’ll do the legally change your name thing and make it official.

Treske is a family name, it was actually my great grandfather Phillip’s last name.  It’s an honor for me to carry it on as he died at the age of 24 in a sanitorium from Tuberculosis.  The remembrance is even more poignant as there was no head stone on his grave until 7 years ago when my mother tracked down the cemetery in Colorado where he had been buried and had a proper headstone put in.  It all feels right.

The fun stuff is that I love making things – art, food, furniture, good times, friends.  I’ m a student of the occult, weaving my way through witchcraft, shamanism, Kabbalah and the magickal arts.  Just follow the shiny object and it works out in the end.

Hopefully this gives you a bit of an idea of who I am.  If you want, please share a bit of who you are!  I’d love to get to know you.

Best as always,

-D.B.
